About the Class: As a seasoned practitioner of Structural Integration, Jean Louise has been using the basic 10-session series of Structural Integration (S.I.) as developed by Dr. Ida P. Rolf, for many years. She has been observing and tracking fascial tissue rotation patterns in her clients and in her own body. The information she learned from doing this has been very helpful for assessing more quickly and accurately what may be going on in my client’s body and how best to address that.

Jean Louise will demonstrate how she does visual assessments and then speak broadly about how to address rotation patterns during each of the 10 sessions. Attendees will partner up and assess each other's primary direction of rotation. A conversation will follow regarding how to use that information for the benefit of ourselves and our clients, in the bodywork and body mechanics that we could do with them. Educating ourselves and our clients in the use of proper body mechanics will assist lasting results for our clients, and allow for longevity in our own bodywork practice.

Additionally, Jean Louise will share information about the conductivity of the connective tissue and the Rolf Line, a structural and energetic channel of the body that practitioners of S.I. organize segments of the body around for an optimal relationship of a person’s body with the gravitational field. Yes! Gravity can be a beneficial force. We will also have an opportunity to do bodywork with each other in specific areas. Jean Louise will demonstrate how she works with the client, engaging their participation as they use their breath and micro-movements to enhance the myofascial release in the bodywork being done together.

This will be a fun productive evening, and we are excited for Jean Louise to share these ideas and experiences with the attendees.

About the Presenter:

1987: Completed massage training in HI and became a HI Licensed Massage Therapist

1991: Completed Basic Certified Structural Integration training with the Guild for Structural Integration.

2004-2018: Ongoing teaching of basic and advanced Deep Tissue Classes as a massage school instructor in Chico, CA

2019: Completion of Certified Advanced Structural Integration with the Guild for Structural Integration.

2019: I became a published author with Inner Traditions Bear & company for a Structural Integration book that I wrote over a 7-year period that is titled, Structural Integration and Energy Medicine: A Handbook of Advanced Bodywork, with a Foreword by Biophysicist, James L. Oschman, Ph.D.

12-16-21: I presented a webinar through IASI, the International Association of Structural Integrators titled, "An Energy Medicine Approach to Structural Integration."

10-20-22: I presented another webinar with IASI titled, "Unraveling Fascial Tissue Rotation Patterns Through the 10-Series in an Energy Medicine Approach.”

03-19-23: I moved to Bellingham WA where I received my WA Massage License and have been practicing Structural Integration part-time.

From my massage training in 1987 and ongoing from 2025, bodywork practice has been a precious and joyful part of my life.
