Strum Strike and Blow 2026

Strum, Strike and Blow will feature around 1,500 students performing on marimbas, ukuleles and recorders from schools from around the Canterbury region. Accompanied by an expert band of professional musicians this will be a great sounding night of uplifting music played by tamariki who have been working all year to share this selection of songs with you. Come and give them your support.

The Festival is run by volunteers from Music Education Canterbury in collaboration with fundraising by the Christchurch Civic Music Council which we are very grateful for.

Our aim is to be as inclusive as possible with players and ticket prices so please consider giving a donation on top of the ticket cost if you are able to help us cover the costs of the evening and also enable us to run for another year.
