Event description
📣Unfiltered! A Town Hall and Open Mic with Senator Faruqi on soaring student debts and placement poverty
The pressure is working!Â
Our tireless campaigning has moved Labor in the right direction, but their solutions still won’t touch the sides of the crises that students and young people are facing with student debt and placement poverty.
Join Senator Mehreen Faruqi, Australian Greens deputy leader and Spokesperson for Education in a Town Hall and Open Mic with young activists for a candid, no holds-barred conversation about skyrocketing student debts and the burden of unpaid placements.Â
We will discuss Labor’s recent announcements and why the Greens think you deserve better.
Pizza and refreshments will be provided. Addi Road Community Centre has also kindly donated shelf stable food for you to take home, please feel free to bring a bag to take some home.
Whether you’re struggling to pay off a growing HECS debt, or a student facing the burden of an unpaid placement, we want you to come along, share your story on the open mic, and connect with others who are facing the same challenges.Â
Let’s get louder and demand action from the Labor government ahead of the May budget. See you there!Â
