From startups disrupting industries, to student founders making waves, the future of business is being built right now. Student Startup Weekend is your chance to dive in, test your ideas, and turn them into reality. Over three action-packed days, you'll connect with top mentors, investors, and like-minded peers to bring your vision to life. Whether you're an aspiring entrepreneur or just curious about the startup world, this is your opportunity to learn, build, and compete for amazing prizes whilst having fun along the way!

Supported by leading entrepreneur development organisations Curtin University and Bloom, this event will guide you through the process of developing an idea for a new business venture. At the end of the weekend, you will have learned how to test your idea, form a team, conduct user research, prototype your product or service, and how to pitch to investors.

Prizes

1st prize - $400 Varsity voucher, free co-working space for a year at either Curtin's Bentley Campus or Bloom's Crawley office, and a one-on-one mentoring session with a member of the Curtin Entrepreneurship team
2nd prize - $200 Varsity voucher plus free co-working space for a year.
3rd prize - $100 Varsity voucher

Weekend Schedule

Friday 4th of April- 4:30pm to 7:00pm - pitches take place and teams are formed
Saturday 5th of April - 9:00am - 6:00pm - teams work on their business ideas
Sunday 6th of April - 9:00am - 7:45pm - teams finalise their ideas with the final pitch competition held at the end of the day

Who can attend?

This event is for anyone above the age of 18+ who is a current high school or university student. You can be studying any discipline – teams need a variety of thinkers from marketing to engineering to health sciences and more!
