Event description

Practical, explicit skills and strategies to improve your teenager's academic potential.

Study Skills are learned skills that can be improved with the right guidance. These popular workshops are designed to assist students up to Year 13, and University students upon request.

Students will take home a 60+ page study guide to help them apply their new skills on a day-to-day basis. This guide was developed collaboratively by Marie Kelly, Educational Psychologist and KTL Tuition Founder.

Does your child need help studying effectively & preparing for exams?

Not everyone knows how to effectively prepare for exams - but these skills can be learned.

At the workshop, your child will learn to apply explicit, practical strategies and skills to improve their academic results.

The Study Skills and Strategies Workshop is led by our KTL tutors. Our tutors are university students who have achieved excellent results in the New Zealand Education system. They have first-hand experience in dealing with the challenges your student may face.

Please note: Your child will need their laptop or tablet for this workshop. A phone is not suitable.

What will be covered at the workshop?

  • Different learning styles and strategies to suit each type of learner
  • Tips to deal with procrastination
  • Goal setting
  • Effective study strategies
  • Essay writing

What skills do students gain after attending the workshop?

  • Increased ability to reach their full academic potential
  • Increased confidence in themself and their abilities (often the difference between an Achieved and a Merit or a Merit and an Excellence)
  • A 60+ page take-home study guide to help your child apply their new skills on a day to day basis. This guide was developed collaboratively by Marie Kelly, Educational Psychologist and KTL Tuition Founder.
