Event description

Style Coffee is a specialty coffee roaster from Kyoto, Japan, visiting Melbourne as part of the Coffee Weekend event. Their approach to coffee is to always aim for sweetness, cleanliness, and a pleasant mouthfeel.

As owner Takumi-San says:

Coffee is truly a magical thing. That something as simple as our sense of taste and smell can take us on a journey of discovery is truly magic.

We aim to create a space where you might to discover this magic for yourself.

Exploring the many countries, farmers, and conditions that bring these various types of coffees to our hands, we can explore the breadth of flavour and aroma profiles, mouthfeel, and unique character of each bean.

Cupping is a system of tasting and evaluating coffee that is used throughout the entire supply chain. For customers and newcomers, cupping is a great way to compare coffees side by side, and to begin to develop your palate. When coffees are experienced comparatively, their different flavour profiles emerge. Over time you can identify a coffee's origin just by its taste, and you will know what we mean when we talk about a coffee's sweetness, acidity, or body.

This casual tasting session is suitable for anyone who’s interested in learning a little bit more about coffee - particularly the Japanese coffee scene. So join us at Market Lane as we host Style Coffee for a unique opportunity to privately cup and discuss coffee from one of Japan's leading coffee roasters.
