SUBCULTURE? presents Nights With Tiki La La on September 15th from 7pm with South-Coast Indie group FIG, and Central-Coast Local Ruby Archer

The band initially started as a writing and recording project of vocalist Tim Burnett, after he threw out his digital recording process, and began experimenting with tape machines and older analogue gear. One by one, new and old friends joined to help bring the project to life. The result, Fig's debut album Harumi Hotel, was released in 2020 to much local acclaim.

Having played numerous sold out shows around Sydney, including at the Factory Theatre, Marrickville Bowling Club, and the Lansdowne, Fig is set to return in 2023 with music that digs deeper into 80s pop and rock; recalling the quirky electronica of Mark Mothersbaugh, the beautiful dream-pop heights of Beach House, and the pulsing drive of Springsteen’s ‘Born in the USA’.

18 year old singer-songwriter from the Cenny Coast NSW who creates angry, jazzy rock with feminist undertones & husky vocals. I reckon the power of music is one of the few magics in this world, and the way it connects people is something sacred. I like to use this gift of the groove to convey my subconscious to anyone who cares, or anyone who doesn’t and just likes the sound of my music.
