Description
Since 2024, Elliott Eve and Alter Ego’s Photography have collaborated to bring you the iconic Gimp Series.
Built from latex, sweat and skin, the series was created as a dedicated artistic exploration of a community that exists beyond convention. Each image strips away expectation to reveal something raw.
Every frame exists because of Melbourne's Rubber community. The people who stepped in front of the camera, the hands that helped create each scene, and the community that continues to make space for this work. This project belongs to them as much as it does to us.
Welcome to SUBSURFACE; An exhibition and warehouse party.
Expect art installations, hidden backrooms to explore, unseen works and new collaborations.
DJ sets by Baby Chris, Chutes, Charbinks, House Mum and Wiser.
Roaming performances by Vixen, Val Emerald and Iris Elgar.
SUBSURFACE is a retrospective reflection of two years of creation and community within the Gimp Series.
This isn't just an exhibition.
It's a place to reconnect, celebrate what we've created together, and disappear beneath the surface for one night.
SUBSURFACE also offers an opportunity to give something back.
Throughout the evening, we'll be running a raffle in support of the Sex Worker Crisis Fund, presented by Vixen, with every dollar raised going directly toward supporting sex workers in times of crisis and financial hardship.
Our heartfelt thanks go to the sponsors whose generosity has made this possible. One lucky winner will take home an incredible collection of prizes, worth over $900
The prize pack includes: a $200 Eagle Leather voucher, a $200 Passionfruit voucher, two Elliott Eve tote bags, a $200 collection of goods from Danish Blue, and $100 USD voucher from Kink Projects.
Every ticket helps support a community that deserves respect, care, and assistance.
Please note: this is not a SOP event.
