SUBSTANCE USE (ALCOHOL) AND MENTAL HEALTH SYMPOSIUM

Join our free livestream from anywhere, as speakers and panellists with lived experience and expertise come together in a studio setting. The symposium will explore alcohol’s impact on existing mental illnesses and offer options for the road to recovery. A person suffering mental health problems may use alcohol to try and cope with tough patches or improve their mood, and yet the use of alcohol to risky levels is likely to worsen one’s mental health. So, rather than examine social drinking or Australia’s drinking culture, the symposium will try to make a difference for those already suffering from a mental illness.
