Event description

New World Artists presents Michael Dunstan on his Impermanence Tour.

Michael Dunstan has released his latest record IMPERMANENCE into the world and to celebrate, he will be embarking on his first national tour since 2020.

The tour will see the Perth based folk/roots artist play a few shows in Northern WA before making his way across to sunny Queensland to start his East Coast run with the inaugural Road Trip events – this year alongside names like Jack Botts, Didirri, Felipe Baldomir, Steph Strings and more.

With Gold Coast native Gaudion and local singer song writer Alexia Parenzee on support duties, the tour will continue down along the East Coast with shows in Newcastle, Central Coast, Sydney, Wollongong, Albury, Halls Gap, Melbourne, San Remo and Adelaide, before wrapping up back home in WA with shows in Scarborough, Cottesloe, Margaret River and Denmark.

‘Impermanence’ is an exploration of the intangible side of life that we are often apprehensive to discuss because words fall short of describing the experience. Put simply, to know is not to feel.

The album is an exploration of mindfulness, sources of contentment and what brings us meaning and purpose in life. It asks the listener to be curious about who we are beyond all our perceived labels, identity, emotions, thoughts and explores what it's like to sit in that place behind it all. Who are we beyond all of it? Are we much different to the person next to us? To the animal with a different means of communication? To the natural world?

Michael Dunstan

Michael Dunstan is a pensive Perth-based folk writer born in Wheatbelt Western Australia, with a peaceful focuson all things bigger than us.Born and raised in the quaint Wheatbelt of WA,Michael’s career has seen the 26year old expand his horizons as his music takes him around Australia and New Zealand, however that doesn’t mean he’s left his original roots in the dust. His laid-back attitude and preference for a slower pace of life is exemplified in his music, which is rooted in a mix of traditional folk and relaxed surf-rock styles.

His lyrics are open and honest, and they seek to reflect travel, serenity, and growth. With a diverse catalogue of ‘thoughtful, warm folk music that at once feels universal & intimate’ (Music Feeds) Michael has swiftly sprawled his intricate song writing globally since the release of his debut EP ‘Solace’ inJanuary 2017. He followed up with a sophomore EP ‘Partly Cloudy’, brooding EP ‘Normal’ and now an offering of perspective, the 14 track debut album ‘In The Grand Scheme’.

To date the releases have loyally garnered in excess of over 8 million streams on Spotify alone. With the release of ‘In The Grant Scheme’, Michael managed to reach his audience who not only appreciates his songs but empathises with them also.Openly sharing personal past struggles with anxiety, Michael hopes to leave all with a piece of mindfulness, and share anew-found appreciation of the beautiful world in which we live with the release of his new record 'Impermanence'

GAUDION

GAUDION sold out Miami Marketta August 2021 showcasing the runaway single Blonde In Sunlight and new track About Right Now and will be touring to celebrate its release.

Having recently performed major events and festivals alongside ‘Hollow Coves', ‘Budjerah’, Tay Oskee, Austin Mackay, Mitch King and 'The Dreggs, GAUDION is now creating waves with an exciting original sound that is moving audiences and collecting hundreds of thousands of streams.

Alexia Parenzee

Full of flavour and bloody catchy hooks - Alexia Parenzee’s music is worth the stay. Alexia combines lush soul vocals and finger picking grooves to define her soul-roots hybrid of music. A natural songstress, she is recognised for her unique tone and authentic vibe on stage. Alexia explores music through her connection to stories of self-exploration, identity, intrepid travels and connection to people and places, and is currently building on the success of her debut single ‘Creed and Colour’, which made an instant splash in the Aus music scene, gaining substantial national as well as international airplay since its release in 2021.

The soulful songwriter has since opened shows for acclaimed musicians Stella Donnelly, Grace Barbé and most recently has hopped on the national tour lineup for Kim Churchill. There are whispers of a
debut album for 2022 as well as a string of WA shows planned for Parenzee and her 4-piece jazz-roots band later in the year.
