Suburban Vibes Presents - Hein Cooper 'Winter Tour' w/ Guest Chris Cavill

Hein Cooper would have to be one our favourite indie artists, one that we've been secretly hoping to host for years, so we are absolutely frothing that he is will be stopping by Perth and playing a special Suburban Vibes, Saturday 17th August as part of his 'Winter Tour' ❤️

After a hiatus following Covid, Hein is back with the announcement of his fourth full length album, produced independently by himself and due for release later this year through his own newly established label ‘Livingstone Records’. 

Joining him on tour, Chris Cavill. Chis is more than just a folk singer/songwriter; he's a storyteller, weaving tales of love, loss, and profound gratitude for family into his music, along with our very own Suburban Vibes soundy Ilish, will take a break from behind the sound desk and share some new music with us.

Join us back at our favourite venue Assembly Yard for a special night of music with Hein & Chris, Ilish 🎶

Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7.00pm sharp start.

BYO Food, drinks as well as rugs and cushions for your seating comfort. High back chairs are welcome up the back of the venue. 

For those new to Suburban Vibes, there will be time to chat and mingle throughout the night however, we ask that whilst the artists are playing, you immerse yourself in their music and limit talking and getting up and down. Our crowd loves the intimacy of our shows so please come and listen, connect and enjoy what you don't get to see or hear at your normal music venues.

HEIN COOPER 🎶

After releasing three studio length albums and international tours supporting James Bay, Ziggy Alberts, Lukas Graham and Hollow Coves, Cooper has established himself with solid ground in the indie folk scene within Australia and abroad and amassed over 22 million streams on Spotify for his hit song ‘Rusty’ (released via Indica Records in 2016). He performed Triple J’s ‘Like a Version’ in 2019, received high rotation for 6 singles on the station and had the 7th most played song on French Canadian radio in 2017 with his french version of ‘Rusty’. After a Hiatus following Covid, Hein is back with the announcement of his fourth full length album, produced independently by himself and due for release later this year through his own newly established label ‘Livingstone Records’. His second single ‘Worst Enemy’ (12th April) and his 3rd single ‘98 Toyota’ (17th May) have both been added to Spotify’s editorial playlist: ‘Coffee and Chill’ and garnered a growing number of 180,000 streams combined.

Chris Cavill is more than just a singer/songwriter; he's a storyteller, weaving tales of love, loss, and profound gratitude for family. With a writing style that is refreshingly honest, Chris captivates audiences with his dynamic energy and heartfelt compositions that deeply resonate with his listeners. Having honed his craft over many years, Chris has emerged as a seasoned musician whose recent achievements mark the pinnacle of his career. In the past 12 months alone, he has featured at the Yackandandah Folk Festival, Cygnet Folk Festival, Goodness Me Festival, the Penola Music Gathering as well as the Busking Stage at this year’s Bluesfest Music Festival.

One of the most distinctive aspects of Chris's live performances is the inclusion of his son, Jesse, a budding talent at just 9 years old. Together, they have created a dynamic musical partnership, producing a series of music videos that have garnered widespread acclaim. Over the past 12 months, their videos, which showcase a wholesome chemistry and musical prowess, have accumulated hundreds of thousands of views on Instagram and YouTube. Their cover of Neil Young’s 'Old Man' has amassed over 280k views alone, touching the hearts of viewers worldwide. On stage, the synergy between Chris and Jesse is nothing short of magical, leaving audiences mesmerised and enchanted.

ILISH 🎶

Ilish played her first ever live show at a Suburban Vibes house gig when she was 14, opening for Michael Dunstan and Jordy Maxwell. Now seven years later she’s actually our front of house sound engineer and pretty much only plays for herself, her friends and her family (luckily we are family 😉) As a lover of a good book, Ilish always writes her music with a story in mind and is inspired by artists such as Missy Higgins, Phoebe Bridgers and Casey Musgraves.

We adore this woman and so will you 😍
