Nazar (Hyperdub)
The UK based, Angolan born producer, visiting Australia for the first time and performing for us live. The creator of 'rough kuduro' a heavier and more broken permutation of the Angolan kuduro dance style and genre, informed by the experience of civil war and violence in Angola. His production is dense and heavy, connecting dots between different sounds of contemporary African/diasporic dance music like gqom, batida with industrial technoand noise.

from RA: Nazar's musical world centres around the extreme violence, injustice and omnipresence of a repressive state during and after the 27-year Angolan civil war, while exploring hope, resilience and pride in a country torn apart by conflict.
