“Because I think revolution is better at night.
Tonight. I think revolution is better tonight.”
How does one describe David Finnigan’s Kill Climate Deniers? Where an action film meets a documentary we see satire, moral confusion, murder and mayhem wrapped into one blazing dance party. Returning to Sydney for the second time, SUDS is proud to present a piece of theatre that has never been more relevant than it is today.
After Parliament House is taken hostage during a Fleetwood Mac concert, Environmental Minister Gwen Malkin and press advisor Georgina Bekken attempt to stop the radicals who staged the siege and are demanding that the government take immediate action to prevent the irreversible effects of climate change. Intercut with this story are interludes narrated by an actor playing the playwright David Finnigan himself. Actually, we casted two. Amongst all the high-octane fight sequences and comic jabs at Australian politics and culture, Kill Climate Deniers poses the question: how far is too far when it comes to saving the planet?
Come join the party.
