"Detectives? I would like to make a confession to my part in the murders of six people. I have one condition. It involves my stories."

A good cop.

A bad cop.

A misunderstood sibling.

And a writer in a totalitarian state whose short stories bear an eerie resemblance to a couple of child murders that have taken place.

Irish playwright Martin McDonagh combines black comedy and gothic thriller as he explores how trauma shapes us and the deadly importance of storytelling.
