Event description

Let's celebrate Veganuary together!

The Gallery and Vikings Bakehouse cordially invite you to join us to celebrate Veganuary and the return of the Suffolk Vegans meet-ups! On Wednesday 26 January 2022 between 18:00 – 21:00, The Gallery will be hosting a special event exclusively for Suffolk Vegans, with Vikings Bakehouse offering a full vegan food menu! The Gallery is only open to the public on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, so this really is an exclusive affair for the vegan community. Go with friends and/or meet the friends you never knew you had!

Tickets, please!

To ensure this special event is viable for The Gallery and Vikings Bakehouse to prepare and staff accordingly, admission will be ticket only. Tickets are available for £5 per person, plus a small booking fee. The entry fee includes a sumptuous welcome drink upon arrival, either a snazzy mocktail, Little Red Dress (alcohol-free gin, gomme, raspberry syrup and fresh lemon juice), or an awesome cocktail, Daiquiri (rum, gomme and fresh lime juice). Tickets may be available on the evening, but we strongly recommend booking your ticket in advance to avoid disappointment. We will refund all tickets which are canceled with at least 24 hours' notice.

Booking fee?

The booking fee is taken by our chosen ticket seller platform, Humanitix, a 100% for-purpose entity and a registered charity that donates all of its profits to social impact projects for disadvantaged children. It’s a new model for effective altruism – they call it "compassionate capitalism". We concur. For more information on Humanatix, see https://www.humanitix.com/

The venue

The Gallery is Ipswich's most exclusive - and perhaps most exquisite - cocktail bar. What could be better? How about the fact that everything is vegan!? Please note that the dress code is smart casual and that The Gallery is an over 18s venue. The Gallery offers plenty of room to ensure you will feel safe and comfortable. Staff will be wearing face masks, and hand sanitizer will be freely available.

The menu

The Veganuary meet-up will be the launch event of The Gallery's new food menu, prepared in the adjacent Vikings Bakehouse. We are keeping the new food line-up under wraps until the meet-up - you will be the first to see it! - but rest assured there will be substantial options, lighter options, healthy options, indulgent options, gluten-free options, sweet options, and that everything is, of course, suitable for vegans.

Your hosts for the evening, Suffolk Vegans!

Founded by local artist, Victoria Petchey, Suffolk Vegans is a friendly group of local vegans who have organised events since 2018, including meet-ups at Hanks, Hullabaloo, Dance East and Christchurch Park. Suffolk Vegans were involved in bringing a screening of Dominion to Ipswich in September 2018, and recently co-organised a successful vegan Christmas market in Felixstowe in December 2021. For more information on Suffolk Vegans, please see their Facebook page.

Did you know?

The relationship between The Gallery/Vikings Bakehouse and Suffolk Vegans is by no means a new one. The very first Suffolk Vegans meet-up was hosted at The Gallery's big sister venue, Isaacs on the Quay, on 2 December 2017.
