    Event description

A weekend seminar with Naqshbandi Sufi teacher and filmmaker Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee.

This two day seminar will explore how Sufism and its heart-centred practices can offer a space of deepening kinship with the living world, and guide us into “falling back in love” with the Earth.

At this time of climate and ecological crisis, there is a need to move away from a human centric paradigm, to one that respects the more-than-human world and recognises the unity that lies at the heart of creation.  In a world of distractions, polarisation, increasing crises and landscapes rapidly shifting under our feet, how can we find our ground, become rooted in love and joy, and remain in kinship with the living world?  How can our spiritual practice contribute to the well being of the whole?

Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee integrates the emerging field of spiritual ecology with traditional Sufi practices and teachings that focus on the importance of love, care and reverence for the Earth. Through engaging and connecting more deeply with the physical world through a heart based connection we can move towards reuniting spirit and matter, and bring the relationship of love and respect for the living world into our everyday lives.

Throughout the weekend we will explore the threads connecting spirituality and ecology through talks, meditation, dreamwork, discussion, and simple practices.
