They once said something about it not being over until a lady is singing. Well, we don’t know much about that, and we wouldn’t readily repeat an operatic cliché anyway. But we are thrilled nonetheless to end our season with an absolute icon of opera: star South Korean soprano, Sumi Jo in a season finale programme of beloved operatic works Mozart, Rossini and Strauss.
She’s “a global opera icon of consummate, captivating artistry” (The New York Times) not to be missed, and she’s coming to Canberra to celebrate the close of our momentous 2027 international series.
