Experience our retreat artists and visiting guest acts in concert at Eudlo Hall! Tickets $15-$45, early bird $35, family tix $100.  

Early Bird tickets end 25 December 2023.  Book now to reserve your seat online.  You can select your seat!  A selection of drinks at the concert bar, and delicious interval refreshments are available for purchase. 

Concert 1:  Friday 5 January 7pm - Originals & Folk Music Night ft.  Double Bill Solo Acts Monique Clare playing originals from her debut album ‘Sight’ and Kathryn McKee K MAK playing originals from her albums ‘Sang Chaud’ and K MAK with local support act.

ABOUT SUMMER CONCERTS

Viva la Cello!  The second Cello Dreaming Summer Concerts 2024 will be held at Eudlo Hall from 5-7 January presenting three public concerts for local and visiting audiences that celebrate the diversity and beauty of the cello featuring guest artists from Brisbane, Australia and Budapest, Hungary.  Expect innovation, excitement, surprise, passion and remarkable music fit for any world stage. Curated by a cellist, for cello lovers, The vision? Cello utopia. 

This is a brave and bold summer concert series, unique to Australia. Concerts that shine a spotlight on the cello, and provide a regional stage for our homegrown and international guest artists who cross musical boundaries, innovate and inspire audiences. Summer Concerts that catapult our next gen of Australian cellists to a sublime level of artistic freedom. 

2024 Summer Concerts will feature ten special guest artists in concert, performing three diverse programs. Friday 5 Jan 7pm, Folk and OriginalsSaturday 6 Jan 7pm, Baroque and Tango and Sunday 7 Jan 3:30pm, Classical Cellissimo!

Friday
 headline artists are folk artist and singer-songwriter Monique Clare, performing original music from her award-winning debut album ‘Sight’ in a double bill with Kathryn McKee K MAK, an indie classical crossover pop artist performing originals from her art pop albums ‘Sang Chaud’ and ‘K Mak’.

Saturday's
 headline act is Diez Cuerdas specializing in Argentine Tango featuring Liz Young violin, Rory Dollard guitar, with Solange Lipcin voice and will also feature Gyorgy Deri, Senior Lecturer Cello, Queensland Conservatorium Music Griffith University originally from Budapest, Hungary, with Louise King, Cello Dreaming and Artistic Director of Long Listen 🎧 with Therese Milanovic, piano. 

Sunday’s
 concert will feature international master concert cellists Gyorgy Deri and Louise King in a program of classical favorites Schumann and Bartok, with lesser known works by female composers Amy Beach, Florence Price and Laura Netzel. Emerging artists will perform Elgar, Bartok and Saint-Saens and the Retreat Cello Choir will perform works by Kodaly, Elgar, Gerschwin and Bach.
