Summer Creative Nature Workshop - Wrap: Mindful Stones at Monarch Park
Event description
Wrap: Mindful Stones
Creative Nature Workshop
In partnership with Auckland Parks
Join us for a gentle, hands-on playshop where we wander the park, gather natural treasures—sticks, feathers, leaves, and more—and create something special together.
Using simple, zen-inspired techniques, we’ll turn ordinary stones into beautiful, mindful objects to take home. It’s a calming, creative experience that invites presence, play, and connection.
All welcome!
Perfect for whānau with children of any age who are curious about nature and creativity.
If your whānau have any specific needs, let us know—we’ll do our best to support everyone to participate, access, and enjoy the time together.
All materials provided.
Come wrap a moment of nature into your day!

Artist Bios:
Emma Hinton is an experienced storyteller and facilitator who transitioned from a 25-year film career to publish Finding Grace Kimihia a Grace, a bilingual picture book. She founded The Light Library, curating workshops and books to nurture fellow creatives while rediscovering her Ngāti Maniapoto roots. Emma lives in Waitākere, Auckland, with her daughter and serves as a Celebrant, sharing real-life stories. She is passionate about the power of storytelling to shape our future and well-being.
Yoko Onishi is a micro-macramé artist born and raised in Japan, where she developed a deep appreciation for traditional culture and handmade crafts inspired by nature. Eight years ago, she discovered macramé, one of the oldest crafts in the world, and founded a workshop in Auckland to teach children and adults how to create beautiful macramé pieces. Yoko’s work blends macramé techniques with the natural beauty of crystals, capturing the harmony between human creation and the natural world.
