Making a Splash with the Summer Safe Squad at Penrith Homemaker Centre!

This school holidays, Penrith Homemaker Centre is teaming up with Surf Life Saving’s Community Education Team to bring families a fun and educational experience!

Our Summer Safe Squad sessions are packed with practical tips and interactive activities that will help kids and parents feel confident around the water — whether it’s at the beach, by the pool, or exploring inland spots like Penrith Beach.

Here’s what families can look forward to:

🦘 Beach & Water Smarts – Learn how to spot rips and waves, stay sun safe, and understand both ocean and inland water risks (plus fun facts about sea creatures!).
🏊 Boosting Water Confidence – Simple strategies to help kids (and parents!) feel safe in and around the water.
🚨 What to Do in an Emergency – Discover what lifeguards do and how they can help when things go wrong.

By making water safety fun, interactive, and easy to understand, the Summer Safe Squad will give families the skills and confidence to enjoy the water safely, wherever their summer adventures take them.

Because staying safe isn’t just for the coast — these life-saving lessons apply to rivers, dams, pools, and of course, our very own Penrith Beach.
