Summer Safety Series
Description
KEEPING KIDS SAFE ISN'T JUST A "PARENT" ISSUE. This is a COMMUNITY issue.
During this event, Special Victims Detectives/Child Forensic Interviewers Kristilee and Alicia will discuss today's threats to children's innocence--what does "Stranger Danger" actually look like? who is most likely to sexually abuse a child? what does the internet have to do with trafficking?--as well as ways to lay the groundwork for how to BE a trusted adult to children you know, and how to lay a foundation for children to feel safe disclosing things (spoiler: if you don't, they won't!). Whether they're students in your class, players on your team, or children in your family/home--this class is for grandparents, teachers, coaches, aunts/uncles, daycare workers, parents, siblings...everyone! Keeping kids safe is a COLLECTIVE effort. Come out and learn how you can be a part of the fight!
We will discuss internet safety for children/youth and how to prevent hands-on victimization! There will be discussion, opportunity for live Q&A, and information presented by experts to KEEP KIDS SAFE. Bring any questions you have always wanted to pose to a real SVU detective! Together, we will save lives.
