Summer Vibes Photo Walk - City Beach (December 2025)
Event description
Chase the summer light at this beachside photo walk at City Beach!
Join us for a photographic wander along the sand, the shoreline and the beachside strip — chasing the light, the action, and those blink-and-you’ll-miss-them moments that are all about the Perth summer beach life.
Think salty hair, sandy toes, swimmers, sunny skies and body surfers cresting on peaking waves. Think quiet pockets in amongst the busy sunlit crowds: the stillness between sets, quiet window reflections, footprints in a patch of soft sand, splashes of light and shadow on walls and pavement.
Along the way you’ll be given a playful creative nudge (nothing heavy — think: a fun mini-quest), designed to push you out of your usual autopilot and help you see beyond the obvious. A small spark to freshen up how you look, what you notice, and how you frame.
If your photo mojo has been in hibernation over the winter months, then this is the perfect opportunity to shake off the stale patch and have a wander to refresh your vision and get your shutter finger working again. Send a slice of your morning making pictures that feel like sunshine.
Let’s make stories of Summer — one frame at a time.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
An interchangeable lens camera (mirrorless or DSLR).
A lens that covers approximately 24-70mm focal length (24-105mm and similar is also suitable).
Optional: An ND filter -- preferable ND64 -- if you'd like to try taking some ICM (intentional camera movement) photography.
Please dress appropriately for the weather (sun safe and for beach walking). Bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated.
