Event description
Summerisle Burn is inspired by the principles of Burning Man but is not affiliated with the Burning Man Regional Network.
Summerisle Burn can be described as a wild, wonderful, expressive arts community that co-creates a temporary thing in the Allegheny mountains of Pennsylvania each summer solstice that's planned, built, and directed by every participant working together to create our burn.
There are no spectators.
We abide by and with the principles of radical self-expression, participative do-ocracy, communal effort, radical inclusivity, immediacy, radical self-reliance, gifting, decommodification, civic responsibility, leaving no trace, and consensual interaction. Our community is built on and thrives by these ideals. Join us!
Tickets will not be available at Gate this year. All tickets must be purchased online. There will be no day passes available. Very limited ice may be available at Gate depending on your time of entry. Please consider purchasing your ice here ahead of time. No change for cash will be available at Gate. Exact change only. Overages will gratefully be considered a generous donation to the Summerisle Burn General Fund. Credit and debit will be accepted.
Please "purchase" a free parking pass if you are leaving your vehicle in parking overnight. This helps us count vehicles and get a better idea of our parking capacity so that we may work to accommodate everyone. These parking passes are separate from RV passes. Summerisle is not requiring, but is heavily encouraging, the COVID-19 vaccine and boosters before participating in Summerisle 2023. There will not be a vaccine check at gate, but if you feel sick, please stay home. In the event of a positive COVID-19 result and you cannot participate, please contact us for a full ticket refund.

2023 Gate Hours:
Tuesday: Board Members, Board build crews, Team Coordinators, burn build crews
Wednesday: Registered theme camps only. 12pm – Midnight (strong preference for pre sunset arrival)
Thursday: ALL ACCESS, 9am to Midnight – No driving past Gate to camp after 8pm (golf carts will be available to run personal gear, but not larger theme camp infrastructure). You may walk in as much as you can carry!
Friday: ALL ACCESS, 9am to Midnight – No driving past Gate to camp after 8pm (golf carts will be available to run personal gear, but not larger theme camp infrastructure). You may walk in as much as you can carry!
Saturday: ALL ACCESS, 9am to 6pm – NO new admittance after 6pm.
Sunday: Gate closed, NO admittance, NO re-entry, exit only, NO cars on roads after 8pm.
Monday: EXODUS by 1 p.m. NO admittance, NO re-entry, exit only.
