MR ALFORD
With a spellbinding song-writing ability, and a time-bending country music sensibility, Mr Alford provides a thoroughly entertaining and impressive solo show. Currently Melbourne-based, Mr. Alford has a long rap sheet – from time spent cutting his teeth in Nashville bars, to collaborating with members of the Carter family, to the Malaysian Symphony Orchestra, his diverse experience explains his ability to enrapture any audience, come for the music and stay for the witty quips. With 5 albums currently under his belt and the 6th on the way, his songs cover many themes and reflect his vast experience on the road, with a sound steeped in all aspects and eras of country music, from traditional to modern bluegrass.
If you haven’t seen a live Mr Alford show we’ll describe it for you. Close your eyes and imagine you’re on a boat sailing through some beautiful Caribbean islands, all your friends are there. An exotic handsome man dressed in a white suit is feeding you organic cranberries. At the end of the boat there’s a guy in a baseball hat yelling country songs at you. It’s like that.
HEART SHAPED LOGIC
Providing a tripped out sonic voyage through the chambers of the human heart. Heart Shaped Logic is the brain child of multi-instrumentalist Samwise Seidel and Pianist Charlie Bamford.
Recidivist bandmates Samwise and Charlie have birthed this project to explore the therapeutic process of introspective song writing, crafting objects with a fascination of timbre, harmony and the human condition.
