In its ongoing commitment to support and provide opportunities for live performance, The Arts House Trust is proud to present the Sunday Concert Series 2024 - an eclectic array of musicians and musical genres showcasing local performers.
Andrew Healey and his five-piece band entertain us with an evening of melodic Indie Rock as part of our Sunday Concert Series. The seasoned musician has walked a somewhat eclectic musical path over his career. He brings a selection of well-loved classic covers as well as originals from his recent album, ‘Parallel World’.
A songwriter from Auckland’s North Shore, Andrew Healey has walked a somewhat eclectic musical path. He started out singing and playing guitar for covers and original bands. Then, for many years he oscillated between intimate gigs as a solo singer-guitarist and extravagant shows as a crooner for the jazz-swing quartet Standard Deviation.
In recent times, due to music-industry disruption courtesy of COVID-19, Andrew has focused his talents to the craft of songwriting. And his efforts yielded ‘Parallel World,’ a melodic 11-track album about his perspective of life in the twenty-first century.
Andrew’s original music has appeared in T.V. and film, and he co-wrote ‘Call me up’, the theme song for a show on Radio Live.
With his five-piece band, which includes singer-keyboardist Das Black Starr, Andrew looks forward to bringing his music to the stage. Watch out for songs from ‘Parallel World’ as well as some classics from artists who have inspired him over the years.
