In its ongoing commitment to support and provide opportunities for live performance, The Arts House Trust is proud to present the Sunday Concert Series 2024 - an eclectic array of musicians and musical genres showcasing local performers.
This month we bring you a colourful programme filled with poetry and fireworks. These stimulating recital pieces explore the expressive range of the oboe and piano duo.
Featuring works from American Mark Biggam's Little Italy Sketches, Canadian Jean Coulthard's Shizen and Frenchman Benjamin Godard's Scotch Scene — take us on exotic trips to Italy, Japan and Scotland.
Star Canadian composer Kevin Lau's Garden of Endless Sleep is modern, poignant and atmospheric. Gardens; Morning, Noon and Night will be played in memory of its composer, Peter Schikele, who passed away last year. Finally, Antal Doráti's Duo Concertante is a flashy affair, full of Hungarian folk music and virtuosity.
No familiar composers here but trust us, this programme will delight!
