About the show.

Save yourself from catching on fire when you’re about to burn out.

It’s Sunday and Zara hasn’t left the house in 3 weeks. She’s on the verge of 30 and back in her childhood bedroom, undertaking major damage control after a family incident. Caught in a sudden storm of inspiration, she’s ready to get her entire life sorted by Monday morning. Recruiting her best friend Sofia, a detox of space and of spirit is in order — if only the ghosts of the future's past will step aside. Brought to you by the award-winning team behind The Complete Show of Water Skiing and ALL BOYS, Sunday Reset is a cathartic new comedy by one of Boorloo’s hottest up-and-coming playwrights, Medina Dizdarevic. This is a new play about losing control, rebuilding, and celebrating the friends that sit with you at the end of the world.

Medina Dizdarević is a promising new playwright, who will benefit immensely from having her work produced with this cross generational team. Medina writes, "By situating the story within a familiar yet deeply personal setting, the play invites audiences to confront uncomfortable truths about burnout, self-neglect, and the challenges of reinvention. This project is also inspired by the experiences of Medina’s own community. Caregiving is not an isolated experience, and the stories of those who navigate these roles are as varied as the people who live them. I hope to capture the complexity of these narratives and ensure that Sunday Reset resonates across cultural, generational, and socioeconomic lines." The realities of funding in the independent arts scene mean we need to call on our community more than ever to make sure the arts we care about can flourish and thrive.

Donations will be used to help subsidise the upfront production costs including set, costume and marketing. This means that we can use more of our earnings to pay the team involved in bringing this production to life.

The team behind Sunday Reset acknowledges that this event and all our activities take place on Whadjuk Nyoongar Boodjar. We pay our respects to elders past and present. We acknowledge the importance of art and culture in First Nations history and are deeply grateful to create and share on this land.
