Dancey Dance Time Sunday Skool

9am- Sophia - Contemporary/yoga

10am- Hilton Denis - Acrobatics

11am- Geny Nvz - Afro Fusion 

Location: 6/394 Marrickville Rd, Marrickville
(Electric DnA Dance Studios downstairs)

Book a place as by selecting the class time.

BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL! 

Classes are $15-$30 including booking fee.No children will be turned away (pay what you feel if the booking price is not affordable) 

Siblings pay for one if you select all three classes! 

Afro Fusion 

This class is designed to introduce young dancers to a fusion of popular African dance & music.

Parents can be sure that their children will receive fun and inspiring classes, from those wanting to learn just for fun and friendship.

Acrobatics

Acrobatics- Children will  strengthen their bodies, learn body weight movemeant, stability, motor coordination &  flexibility. This is an introduction to basics of acrobatics; handstands, forward/backward etc. 

Contemporary and Yoga

Children will be led through a warm up consisting of basic yoga postures in combination with breath and music. They will then be guided through exercises drawn from the fundamentals of contemporary dance technique. Finally, each class will finish with a new creative task where the children can explore their own creativity through movement and the body!

Geny Navuzi is a Belgium dancer originally from Congo.  She danced all her life and having influences from ragga-dancehall, hip hop and house,her style, even if she uses pure Afro steps, is a blend of different ones.

Geny shared her Afro moves all around Europe  , she has been teaching in Belgium, Italy , The Netherlands.

In  the last 5 years she actively contributed to developing the Afro-dance scene in Sydney. Her Afro dance  class will make you travel around Africa. From Angola with some kuduro , Passing by Congo with some ndombolo to ivory coast with some coupé-décalé...etc  

Her way of teaching is made for boost your  confidence , improve your rhythm and have fun.

Hilton Denis has been performing since a young age and is a versatile and respected dancer. He studied many styles of dance at Brent Street Studios and through the Talent Development High School including Jazz, Tap, funk, classical, hip hop, acrobatics, singing and acting. 

Hilton appeared on the premiere series of So You Think You Can Dance and was a memorable and popular competitor in the Top 20. Other television credits  include Farscape, Australia's Next top Model finale, MTV Video Music Awards, and The  Helpman Awards. 

Hilton has worked with many of Australia's leading Choreographers with stage credits including Le Grand Cirque, Dolly Teen Choice Awards, Dream Ball, Billabong- Girls Get Out there Tour and Yeosu Expo. As a regular Dancer with Natalie Bassingthwaighte he has appeared for her in the "Alive" music video as well as  various live performances. Other artist credits include Flight Facilities, Jessica Mauboy,  and Timomatic. 

Sophia is a South African-Australian contemporary dancer and choreographer. She is a graduate of the McDonald College of Performing Arts and the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), qualified with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance. Her credits include performing for Shaun Parker & Company, La Fura Dels Baus & Opera Australia, Force Majeure and many other independent choreographers from around the country.

Sophia moved to Berlin where she joined Clark’s world tour of Death Peak Live, Dj Bobo’s Kaleidoluna European tour and Lena Meyer Landrut’s Only Love European tour. She danced in large scale on screen productions X Factor Germany, season 1 and 2 of The Masked Singer Germany and season 3 of Netflix series, Babylon Berlin.

Since returning to Australia 2021, Sophia followed her passion to teach and share her experiences at institutions such as Sydney Dance Company PPY, The Mcdonald College and Ev and Bow Full Time Training Centre. She feels energised to continue sharing the language of dance to all levels and ages.
