Sunday Soupie Fundraiser

Bring your bowl, bring your spoon, bring your friends! Come gather to share delicious homemade soups, and enjoy the poetry of Luisa Mitchell (she/her), Nyungar writer and arts worker, and author of her recently published book Song of the Shadow of a Seed, and Em Readman (they/them), Boorloo-based writer & author of recent essay ‘I owe everything to old lesbians’, published in the Portside Review.

Attendance by donation; tickets listed to gauge numbers and therefore soup quantities! You can add a donation through Humanitix or pay what you can on the day by cash or PayID.

We’ll be raising funds for Camp 4 Mob in Boorloo, and Queer RISE South Sudan, a group of Queer and Trans refugees in a UNHCR refugee camp there. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free soups will be on offer; you’re welcome to bring whatever you’d like to drink, and please do BYO bowl and spoon! I’m planning to attempt a traditional Ugandan chicken soup under the guidance of my friend Dannielle in the South Sudan camp, she says it’s so delicious it will blow our minds and taste buds.

Our Sunday Soupie will be at my home in Doubleview, on Moorland St (one block from Scarborough Beach Rd where the 990 bus and CAT bus travel regularly). All welcome!
