Sunnyside Workshop | Colour and Storytelling
Event description
Step into the vibrant world of Jenna Oldaker, Wadawurrung Traditional Owner and Aboriginal artist, and explore colour, pattern, and storytelling through her Murrup Art practice. Drawing on the sacred traditions of her ancestors, Jenna’s joyful, brightly coloured artworks are inspired by Dreamtime symbols, Wadawurrung Country, and community storytelling.
This exploratory workshop invites participants to experiment with bold colours, patterns, and forms. Guided by Jenna, you’ll create pieces that are playful, expressive, and rooted in cultural storytelling, while learning about Wadawurrung culture and heritage.
Jenna works across a variety of forms, from canvas and installations to public artworks and digital designs, and in this workshop, she brings her contemporary, multi-coloured style to a hands-on, inclusive, and educational creative experience. All materials are provided, and participants leave with unique artworks inspired by the workshop’s joyful and culturally rich approach.
Jenna Oldaker is a Wadawurrung Traditional Owner and Aboriginal artist, based in Ballarat on Wadawurrung Country. An emerging artist in the field of visual arts, Jenna explores the sacred traditions of storytelling, culture and heritage through her brightly coloured and joyful artworks.
