Daves Creek Circuit: full circuit 12km return, to & from Surprise lookout 9km return, grade 4

Join us as we chase a Winter sunrise from one of the best lookouts in Lamington National Park!

Surprise Rock is approx. 4.5 km from the trail head at Binna Burra and provides incredible 360 degree views of the national park, Numinbah valley, towards the Gold Coast, and the Byron Bay lighthouse.

Upon arriving at the lookout for dawn, we'll be serving tea/coffee and a breakfast of bircher muesli, pancakes, and gingernut biscuits.

After breakfast, you'll have the option to return to Binna Burra if you're tight on time, or continue on Daves Creek to complete the circuit (12km total). Known as the most biodiverse track in Lamington, we'll be walking within both subtropical and temperate rainforests, wet sclerophyll forest, and heath.

Make sure you pack plenty of warm layers, a headtorch, and arrive on time for a 4.30AM start to ensure we have enough time to walk out and climb up to the lookout.
