Sunset Sessions - Lion's Park, Woy Woy. Family Acro & Hoop Circus Workshops

As part of the ACTIVE FEST 2023, Roundabout Circus brings to the community a series of free events that will allow you, your kids, friends, and family to practice circus skills and learn from experienced teachers and enjoy creative play together. We practice all flow toys, juggling, hula hoop, acro and unicycling. Our Active Fest events will include 3x SPIRAL Coast at Gosford, 3x Make your own equipment and Aerial workshops at Wyoming plus partnerships with Sunset sessions Woy Woy, and Active Fest events at The Entrance and Terrigal.

This is an opportunity for intergenerational self-directed play, there will be LED equipment for up to 40 people to play with at once! 

On the Family workshop YOU will get to interact with kids and adults doing acro together, we encourage intergenerational PLAY!

Stay until the end, by 5pm we will be using ALL the LED hoops to run the workshop and light up the sunset session.

Alongside these workshops will be our circus jam where you can try something new or come and practice our favorite skills. Bring your own toys and some spares will be available to borrow. Everyone is welcome - beginner or expert. Our team will help guide you if you are a beginner but this part is not a structured workshop and we encourage creative safe exploration of the equipment and activities. For partner acro we will have spotters for all new skills.

• 4:00 - 5:00 pm Families Workshop Acro. Families and Kids 5-12 yrs.
• 4:30 - 6:30 pm  Interactive Circus Playspace. Families and Young Adults.
• 5:00 - 7:00 pm LED GLOW Disco. Young Adults

• Spaces are limited so we encourage you to sign up in advance so you don't miss out. If spaces are available then we will take extra people on the day. 

Sunset sessions is a monthly arts activation event in the Peninsular region of the Central Coast. Hosted by Etherial Misfits it includes live music by local bands, face painting, art tent with our friends the Crud Muffins and Open Mic. Here is the full schedule of the rest of the event:

Flow of the evening

4pm kicking off with the circus space, workshops and art tent
5:30 - 6:30 - Open Mic
6:30-7:30 - Live music with Goblet
7:30- 8:30 Live music with Lemon Joe
8:30-9:30 space for a Jam

Workshop Risk Information

By booking the workshop you are acknowledging there are risks involved in the activity and that the participant is physically capable of undertaking the tasks. No prior experience or fitness level is required and tasks can be adapted for different abilities and limitations where required. If there are any prior injuries or physical limitations to participation, these must be communicated with the instructor.
