Event description

A summer night of melodic, original gems with acoustic outfit Sunshine Tip (usually a trio with Dave Bowers, Dee Hannan, Alice Garner - this time a quartet! with the one and only Al Barden on drums)

Plus special guest, singer-songwriter Katankin.

The intimate band room at the Merri Creek Tavern is the perfect place to listen to finely crafted songs by these Melbourne musicians. Always best heard live...

It's a small space: book early so you don't miss out.

Sunshine Tip:

Dave Bowers (guitars, vocals), Dee Hannan (mandolin, vocals) and Alice Garner (cello) are an acoustic trio playing melodic, moody country-influenced original songs. The band members have played across many different line-ups in Melbourne, Australia, moving through a kaleidoscope of styles & traditions, including country, rock’n’roll, electronica, lounge, Irish, Greek and more.

The band released their debut EP ‘We were the endlings', in December '23, and in 2025 will head back into the studio to record an album.

In this gig they are joined for the first time by drummer Al Barden (Marcel Borrack's Telecaster Diaries, Machine Translations).
