Super CE Day - Employee Engagement and Retention Course

On December 13th, 2023, the Building Industry Association of Northern Kentucky will offer a full day of complimentary education courses to members to provide them with an opportunity to boost their knowledge and better their businesses!

In one of our courses, Carla Messer, PhD will be presenting on Employee Engagement and Retention.

 

This Complimentary Business Boost will count as 1.5 Continuing Education Credits for Registered Builders and Remodelers.

About the Instructor:

CARLA R MESSER, PHD HAS extensive experience coaching, mentoring, and training top performers. She has presented performance improvement techniques to world-class audiences globally.

Carla founded BestWork, LLC a management consulting firm focused on talent management and development in 2008. Carla facilitates team building sessions, delivers performance coaching and conducts assessments for hiring and promotion. She is an energetic presenter who has conducted more than 300 workshops, seminars and training sessions globally and trained more than 1,000 managers and supervisors about leadership. In addition to her consulting practice, since 2004, Carla has taught business courses in management, human resources, ethics, international business, and marketing as an Assistant Professor for a regional campus of Indiana University.

Formal Education

Carla’s formal education includes a PhD with a concentration in Ethical and Creative Leadership. Her doctoral work focused on job and community embeddedness and the link to retention of black professionals. She also holds a Master of Arts in Communication, with a training and development focus, and an MBA in Strategy from The Ohio State University.

Carla is Expert Certified in The Harrison Assessment, which measures 175 work behaviors for hiring, development, and promotion. She is also a certified executive coach who helps leaders tackle strategic objectives. She holds certifications in Predictive Index and Multi-Rater 360-degree feedback tools.

Practical Application

Carla blends theoretical content with creative methods to provide a fun and effective environment for learning and development. Her professional career includes executive posts in sales and distribution, entrepreneurial start-ups, and operations management. During her career she’s led diverse and complex projects for clients such as Luxottica, E.W. Scripps, Silfex, Cincinnati State, Regal/Rexnord, The United Way, Messer Construction, Steelcase, TriHealth, Macy’s, and P&G among others.

Giving Back

Carla has held the role as board chair for Hope House Mission in Middletown since 2004 and has served as a board member on the City Gospel Mission Board since 2014.
