Super Models: A Collection - Opening

Event description

This exhibition, in conjunction with the Festival of Architecture, showcases work by Unitec School of Architecture students. Unitec encourages students to create models to understand and imagine finished spaces. This series of 3-D printed architectural models, including both existing projects and imagined designs, allows students to explore and communicate spatial interrelationships, scale, materiality, and other design considerations.

The model serves as the medium between an idea and a building, functioning as a tangible three-dimensional sketch that tests how spaces unfold and their relationships. These models become beautiful visual expressions of scale and space. At Unitec, we believe that model-making, as a testament to the student's creativity, fosters more creative and insightful solutions to design proposals. Students gain visual-spatial learning and enhance their cognitive thinking by constructing models. The school views model-making as vital to the creative process and one of the most effective and engaging presentation techniques.
