Support Sustainable Farming with Clagett Farms and Slow Food DC

After a successful volunteer day with Owls Nest Farm in 2024, Slow Food DC is organizing another day to volunteer with one of our amazing local farms and a Snail of Approval Winner, Clagett Farm! Volunteers will spend the morning helping to harvest fall crops and prepare the farm for the winter season. We receive a short farm tour and have the chance learn about the sustainable farming practices at Clagett Farms and the work of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

Volunteers should expect to meet outside Union Station between 7:50-8:00 and they will be driven to Clagett Farms. All volunteers should wear close toed shoes, long pants, sun protection and be prepared to get dirty. Please bring a re-usable water bottle. We will help around the farm from 9-12pm and then have lunch on the farm before returning back to Union Station.

Lunch and drinks will be provided with funds from the ticket cost. Water will be available on site.

All volunteers will need to fill out this health form with Clagett farms before traveling

All volunteers will be required to sign a liability waiver with Slow Food at Union Station before departure.
