    Event description

This year’s EOFY campaign we are raising funds to conserve a wonderful Australian Impressionist work donated to the Mosman Art Collection by long-term Gallery supporters Marshall and Caroline Phillips, an Emanual Phillips Fox, Study for Enfant de la Première Communion, c. 1904, oil on board, which features a bonus oil study on the reverse - a delightful French river scene.

A beautiful pairing with the Gallery’s existing Ethel Carrick Fox paintings, the opportunity to exhibit the work of Emanual Phillips Fox near his wife’s work will reunite an iconic artistic couple at Mosman Art Gallery for all to enjoy. This study, painted c. 1904 may very well have been completed around the time of the couple's engagement and early period together in France.

All funds raised will go directly toward conserving both sides of this study, enabling the Gallery to display the work in such a way that visitors will be able to enjoy the painting's two sides.

Together we can conserve our collection for the future!
