Title: Supporting and Sustaining Self Esteem: Evidence-Based Resources and Interventions to Support Clients in Building and Maintaining Positive Self-Image

This workshop will explore the critical role self-esteem plays throughout the lifespan, focusing on its development and impact at different life stages. The presentation will review relevant research to deepen participants' understanding of the origins of self-esteem and the frameworks necessary for building and sustaining positive self-esteem. Attendees will receive an overview of key terminology, foundational knowledge, and evidence-based strategies that can be applied to support self-esteem in both themselves and their clients. The session will conclude with a review of practical assessment tools and intervention techniques that can be implemented in mental health settings to foster positive self-image and resilience.

Learning Objectives: As a result of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the development and impact of self-esteem across various life stages.
  • Implement self-esteem assessments in mental health services.
  • Apply evidence-based strategies to enhance and maintain a positive self-image for clients and providers
