Event description

This essential workshop/ webinar will cover many aspects of a young child's language development and how educators can support and facilitate children's language development through play.

We will discover the milestones and key elements of language development, how, and what we can document for a child's development in this domain, and provisions we can provide to support children's language development through play and learning.

Unpacking the importance of educators day to day interactions and how this can impact a child's language development will be a strong emphasis in this workshop. The role of the educator, engagement, and interactions will be a key focus in supporting children's language development.

Goal setting for language development and supporting these goals as we work alongside the families will be an opportunity to discover ways to work more closely and respectfully with families on children's language development and create a supportive network for a positive outcome for children.

Other concepts we will explore will be:

* The importance of social language.

* Using visuals and key word sign to support language development in all children.

* Working with other professionals.

* Having professional conversations with families when there are concerns.
