About the presenter:

Andrea Greer is the director & founder of Nurturing Relationships. She is an award winning Social Worker for innovative practice (2023) and excellence in research (2018). She has a masters in social work with distinction, endorsed in mental health Practice. She is also a certified Synergetic Play Therapist and currently training in EMDR, an evidence-based trauma therapy.

Andrea experienced her first traumatic loss at the age of 12 when one of her best friends died tragically in the Silkair aeroplane crash that killed all 105 on board. Having to navigate the sudden and tragic loss as a tween herself, Andrea has a deep passion for supporting children & youth who have experienced trauma or traumatic loss.

Andrea has over 17 years of practice-based experience with children, youth and their families and is passionate about using creative & strengths based approaches to support them to heal and thrive.

Originally from Singapore, Andrea now calls Aotearoa New Zealand her home & together with her husband and two children, they live in rural Southland.
