This event has passed Register

Event description

This event will be of interest to WA Early Childhood Education and Care Centres interested in implementing the Pyramid Model in their Centres.

The Pyramid Model is a framework of effective prevention, promotion, and intervention practices for supporting young children’s social emotional development and preventing challenging behaviour (Hemmeter et al., 2021).  The Pyramid Model is designed to support all children and has been used in programs serving children from birth to age 6 in both centre and home-based settings. The Pyramid Model aligns with trauma-informed care and reflects a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging.

This 3.5 hour workshop, facilitated by Dr Mary Louise Hemmeter, will cover the following:

1. Presentation and Discussion:

Overview of the Pyramid Model and how to implement it program wide - what we know happens when you do this well.

What does it mean to be a demonstration or pilot site

Evaluation data

2. Focus group/Discussion

What support would your program need?

How would this fit with other initiatives or commitments your program has?

What questions or hesitations do you have?

3. How you would be supported by PMC/PMA
