Event description

Women make up half of all academics at UTS, but representation decreases with seniority. Fewer than 40% of Professors at UTS are women. This cross-faculty panel will discuss identification of intersectional challenges through analysis of a recent academic staff survey and highlight initiatives to reduce or remove barriers to career progression.

These include

  • the Business School’s successful Promotion Bootcamp,
  • FEIT’s popular mentoring program for HDR women,
  • the positive impact of the Academic Women in Science network, and
  • structural changes to support flexible work practices in Health.

Moderator: Jo Tilly (CSJI)

Panel: Dr Sujeewa de Silva (Science/AWiS), Bernardo Severiano (Science), Dr Nicole Sutton (Business), Dr Faezeh Karimi (FEIT/WiEIT), Prof. Sally Inglis (Health)

Please note that this is an in-person event.
