Supporting academic women to succeed
Event description
Women make up half of all academics at UTS, but representation decreases with seniority. Fewer than 40% of Professors at UTS are women. This cross-faculty panel will discuss identification of intersectional challenges through analysis of a recent academic staff survey and highlight initiatives to reduce or remove barriers to career progression.
These include
- the Business School’s successful Promotion Bootcamp,
- FEIT’s popular mentoring program for HDR women,
- the positive impact of the Academic Women in Science network, and
- structural changes to support flexible work practices in Health.
