Supporting Young People 18-24 years old

Community Breakfast for Parents & Carers of Young People Aged 18-24

7am – 9am
Wednesday 16th October 2024
Long Reef Golf Club - Anzac Ave, Collaroy

Are you the carer or parent of a young person aged 18-24 years of age?

Would you like to be better equipped to understand their changing needs and how to support them?

According to the NSMHWB, it’s been estimated that 26% of people aged 18–24 experience high or very high levels of psychological distress, particularly as they journey through the key transition period of moving away from the supported school system into adulthood. The absence of a school routine, managing new responsibilities, making difficult decisions and stepping into what feels like the unknown might feel overwhelming for some young people.

This transition can be stressful, having a direct effect on mood, which may lead to anxiety and depression. So, knowing how you can best support young people, is vitally important.

Our 'Supporting Young People' breakfast will consist of lived experience and expert speakers presentations, panel discussions, and local youth services, giving you the opportunity to have your questions answered and meet local youth and family support services.
