Event description

104.1 CHY FM will celebrate 50 years of broadcasting on Friday 1st December.  We will kick off a year of celebrations with a MOVIE ON THE LAWN event at the Woolgoolga Brewery.

And what a party it will be!

The first 50 in the door will get a Birthday Donut from OMG Decadent Donuts.  There's great live music from the Jam Jar, and when the sun goes down, the Movie on the Lawn will be the award-winning Tim Bonython surfing flick – The Big Wave Project II.

This production has taken Tim around the planet to interview the world’s most renowned big-wave surfers and to record the biggest and most death-defying waves. It’s a narrative that will scare and exhilarate viewers in equal measure. THE BIG WAVE PROJECT II travels to all the big wave spots on the planet with the world’s most respected big wave surfers.

Bring a blanket, a bean bag or a low-back chair and sit out on the lawn amphitheatre of the Woopi Brewery.  Book a table for an early dinner.  Order from the menu - pizza, nachos, dips and popcorn are available as well as the award-winning Woopi Brews.  Soft drinks for non-drinkers and the under-18s'.

And courtesy of That Company, we've got a Ben Buckler Mini Mall to raffle off on the night.  Tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10.

104.1 CHY FM is a not-for-profit, fully independent youth community radio station that runs on the goodwill, hard work, passion and dedication of our volunteers and staff and the generosity of subscribers, donors and sponsors who fund the station.  All funds raised will go towards training programs for Coffs Harbour youth, equipment upgrades and station operational costs.
