Surf, Travel and Adventure Course (Post exam GSCE & A-Level)

Who’s it for:

Perfect for anyone finishing their GCSE’s and A-level’s. This course is designed to prepare you for going on holiday solo or with friends, Gap years and surf travel,  helping you manage risk and make balanced, well informed choices to stay safe and have fun. It includes skills and qualifications required for water sports coaching.

Our team have been in your shoes and have lived adventurously amassing vast travel, coaching and lifeguarding experiences. You will also gain an SLSGB qualification if the required criteria is met (Surf Life Saving Great Britain).

2026 Dates:

Courses Run 9am-4.30pm:

• 16th - 18th June (3 days)

• 23rd- 25th June (3 days) 

• 30th June- 2nd July (3 days)

• 14th July - 16th July (3 Days)
  

Basic Content guide:

• Risk Management, Hazard perception, safety, fitness and self awareness.

• Surfing- developing knowledge and technique for anonymous surfing

• Board and Swim Rescue techniques

• Basic Life Support and Level 1 Basic First Aid: Role of first aider, scene assessment, unconscious casualty, CPR, choking, bleeding, shock and minor injuries.
  

How long the first aid award stays valid for & how to renew:

• 12 months from the date of assessment, thereafter submission of annual CPD in accordance with SLSGB guidelines for First Aid Qualifications.
  

Prerequisits:

• Must be a full member of SLSGB: https://www.slsgb.org.uk/support-us/membership/  

• 16-19 years old

• Minimum swim competency (in a pool):

  200m in 5 minutes / 400m in 8 minutes

Price:

• £400 + booking fees

• There is the option to pay £50 (non-refundable) deposit to secure your place. Final payment of £350 to be paid via BACS payment 2 weeks ahead of course start date.
