Surry Hills Business Partnership (SHBP) Meeting: The Shakespeare Hotel, Upstairs Bar, Surry Hills

The Surry Hills Business Partnership (SHBP) AGM resolution items and Local Precincts communication resources planning session.

SHBP and Local Precincts invite local businesses to attend to find out more about our communities communications development plan, which includes: information distribution, collection, newsletters and Urban Village refresh.

We invite others to nominate themselves, and the Board gives notice that nominations are now open for positions on the Board: nominations close at 6pm on Tuesday, 6 August 2024.

We will accept nominations: by email; or scanned to either of these email addresses: The Secretary; surryhillsboard@gmail.com or the current Chair’s email address info@localprecincts.org

Details to be provided must include the nominee’s: 

- Name, 

- Business registration, and experience.

Where the number of nominees exceeds the number of vacancies, the election of Board Members shall be conducted at the meeting by poll as follows: 

- A Returning Officer is elected at the meeting.  The directors, secretary, or anyone who has an interest in the election, are not eligible to be the Returning Officer, 

- All nominees are to be listed on the ballot form in alphabetical order,

- The Returning Officer is responsible for determining the validity of and counting of the votes,

- If there is an equality of votes, the outcome shall be determined by lot,

- The Returning Officer is to declare the election results.

If any vacancies remain at the end of the meeting, those vacancies shall be casual vacancies and shall be filled later in accordance with the Rules.

Local Precincts brings together business owners and operators from some of Sydney's inner precincts, from Surry Hills and the east, to Redfern, Waterloo and the south to the inner west precincts of Broadway, Glebe, Camperdown and Darlington. This is an opportunity to meet your neighbouring business owners/operators from next door and the next precinct.
