Event description

The annual Surgical Mixer is the flagship event of the Sydney University Surgical Society. This event provides students with the opportunity to meet influential surgeons from all specialties of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, pick their brains, and find a mentor. This year, the Mixer will begin with keynote presentations delivered by 2 renowned surgeons:

Professor Munjed Al Muderis, a clinical professor at Macquarie University and the University of Notre Dame, consultant orthopaedic surgeon, author and human rights activist.

Professor Margaret Schnitzler, head of Northern Clinical School, Academic Director of the Northern Precinct and Academic Lead for Surgery at the Northern Clinical School, and consultant colorectal surgeon.

Most of the event will then be dedicated to small breakout sessions, where students get to network with surgeons in fields that interest them. Through this event, students and surgeons will be able to build valuable connections in a dedicated setting away from the hospital environment, and hopefully build meaningful professional relationships.

Along with access to this great evening of events and food and drink, each ticket purchased also comes with one entry into a draw for a free suturing kit.

Ticket Price: $15
