This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Do you want some ideas for quick and easy meals that the kids can help you with, and you know they’ll eat?

Your kids will learn how to make a quick and easy ‘cheat’ pizza, with a scone style base. You can make pizza for dinner and scones for tomorrow's school snack, in less than 30 minutes when you know how.

Cooking is not only fun for children, but an important skill which they will use for life. We’ll also share tips on how to use up bits and bobs in your fridge to avoid wasting food waste and save money at the same time.

Note you will need to bring:

  • mixing bowl
  • baking tray
  • wooden spoon – (or regular spoon or butter knife)
  • board or mat for rolling (cutting board is fine)
  • rolling pin – if you have one
  • spatula – if you have one
  • container, should there be leftovers to take home
  • apron – recommended
  • wear closed in shoes

Join Kirsty Bishop-Fox, a sustainability educator who loves food but hates waste. She likes to prepare quick and easy healthy meals at home by using up whatever is in the fridge. Kirsty will share tips and tricks to help make easy budget conscious meals, which can prevent food waste and reduce single-use plastic waste too.

Children are to be accompanied by an adult
