Sustainability Week: Social Sustainability with Decoloniality student project Showcase
Event description
Explore the thought-provoking works produced by students of the Social Sustainability (SOCI30016) third year Sociology Capstone subject.
Within this subject, students engage with sociological and decolonial authors and literatures to explore climate change, sustainable societies, human and nonhuman relations and Indigenous resistances to colonial waste, rising seas and mining and exploration. Their works are visualised as A1 posters, Zines, Podcasts and forms of digital mapping which highlights their research into environmental-social issues such as rising temperatures, ageing populations and urban spaces, ‘fast fashion’, e-emissions and the impact of the waste generated from our consumption habits.
