    Event description

In this 3 hour workshop, you will learn ways to identify suitable grasses for weaving and how to harvest them with respect and sustainability in mind. You will learn simple ways to process the plant material ready for use in creating a small basket and use simple stitching techniques, such as coil and cobbling, with grasses collected from around Mugga Mugga cottage.  The workshop will also explore ways to add meaning and decoration to your vessel, using textiles and seed pods. Please bring along any personally meaningful textiles that you may like to incorporate into your vessel.

All other materials will be supplied. This workshop is suitable for beginners.

Please note that this is a “slow craft” and you may not leave with a finished vessel at the end of the workshop, however you will have learnt the skills to be able to finish in your own time.

    Bookings essential.
